Fast Facts:

Hometown: Sioux Falls, SD

Currently Resides In: Bloomington, IL

College: The University of Nebraska (B.S.) and The University of Toledo (M.Ed.)

Coaching License: USSF E

Playing Experience: Started playing at the age of 5 in South Dakota. Played on a club/travel team throughout Jr. High and High School. Continued playing on adult leagues and still do so today.

Like Most About Soccer: The ability for the sport to offer a combination of observable team and individual efforts.

Favorite Soccer Player: Ruud Gullit, member of the Netherlands national team and played in the 1990 World Cup. My travel team played in Europe at the same time as the 1990 World Cup and we stayed with host families in the Netherlands while there.

Coaching Philosophy: Work with your players to help them develop the fundamentals of the game early on. Give younger players exposure to all positions to see what they like most and where they excel. Help them build confidence in their abilities and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the game!

Other Useful Information: I have co-coached my daughter’s PCSL team for 5 years and have basically had the same group of girls the entire time. Over these past 5 years, I have watched every girl develop more confidence in their abilities, establish better ball control skills and begin to understand the more complex aspects of the game.
